During my time as senior designer at Ithaca College, I collaborated with the creative and marketing team to evolve the college’s visual language alongside its updated brand platform. The brand is centered on the idea of progress—expressed visually through elements that create a feeling of dynamic momentum.
Ithaca College
Updated visual brand, plus execution across print and digital channels
I worked with the creative team to translate the brand platform into a set of personality guidelines—words that the team could use moving forward to guide creative work. We distilled that work into four main traits, and we outlined how those traits translate into visual expression.
Progress is at the heart of the brand. I created a system of core graphic elements—lines, patterns, and shapes—that build a sense of momentum and dynamic energy.
Ithaca College is an eclectic and friendly place, and we wanted to be sure to bring that feeling through to the visual identity. Texture adds warmth to bold color, and redesigned icons with human elements feel friendly and lively.
I worked with the team to apply the new brand identity across a full set of materials: print, social, web, and environmental. We also built a comprehensive resource to document the new visual identity.
